一座喧嚣的南方都市，高楼林立，车水马龙；
一条被逐渐淡忘的城中村，沧桑满脸，朴实纯洁；
一群汉子，老人，孩子和妇女，
守护几条藏在河涌下的龙舟，
敬如父母，亲似弟兄，
十年如一日，
此种守候，缘自对信仰的执着，抑或对文化烙印的回味？
此中选择，是挺起一道民族的脊梁，还是苦苦挽留峥嵘过去？
村落在消逝，龙舟在淡出，民俗在成为历史，此时此地此人，明年今日，能否再见？
2007年5月至6月，广州民间文艺家协会启动龙舟纪录片拍摄工作，数十位民俗专家见证指导，并得当地村镇政府、电视台、广州旭东礼行文化传播公司大力支持。两个月的田野拍摄，独家全程追踪广州车陂起龙、修理龙船、龙船柬派发、采青、训练、比赛、趁景等龙舟风俗的写实记录。这是对龙舟节热闹背后民间守望者执着与辛酸的致敬，是当前文化保护的实际行动和反思。

A noisy city in south China, full of high-rise buildings, crowded with heavy traffic.
An in-city village fading away from memory, carrying history, remaining natural and plain.
A group of young men, old men, children and women.
They are guarding the dragon boats stored under the river.
They respect them as parents; treat them as brothers.
Time passes but they remain unchanged.
This waiting, does it come from the cling to faith, or from the recall of cultural identity?
This choice, is it a raise of national self-esteem, or a bitter clutch at the glorious past?
The village is vanishing; the dragon boating is fading; the folk custom is turning to be history. This moment, this place, these people, will they still be there next year?
In May and June 2007, the Guangzhou Folk Literature and Art Association started up a newsreel shooting on dragon boating,
with the witness and guidance of dozens of folk custom experts, and the strong supports from the local village and town government, TV stations and the Guangzhou Lugift Dissemination Co., Ltd. The two-month’s field shooting tracked and gave exclusive report on the whole series of dragon boating custom in Chebei, Guangzhou. For example, boat lifting, boat decorating, boating invitation dispatching, plucking, training, racing and gathering. This is an honor to the folk custom guardians for their hardships and perseverance behind the jollifications of the Dragon Boat Festival. This is also a profound reflection on the culture protection under urbanization’s ironing heel.
